Chronic Fatigue

Chronic Fatigue

Have you been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, also known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis.

While the exact cause of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is unknown, the symptoms are debilitating and can make daily life feel like an uphill battle. Symptoms include fatigue, loss of memory or concentration, sore throat, enlarged lymph nodes in your neck or armpits, unexplained muscle or joint pain, headaches, and unrestful sleep. Signs of chronic fatigue often include extreme tiredness that can occur following light movement, exercise or even after a long night’s sleep.

According to an Institute of Medicine (IOM), an estimated 836,000 to 2.5 million Americans suffer from ME/CFS, but most of them have not been diagnosed and the numbers are growing affecting men, women and children of all races and ethnicities.

The question that everyone with this has is can anything be done and if so, where should they even start.

Treatment For Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Treatment is based around the understanding of what the cellular features of chronic fatigue syndrome (myalgic encephalomyelitis) are. We are going to take a minute for you to better understand what you are dealing with, so you know how to move forward in a positive direction with your health.

When we break down myalgic encephalomyelitis that is going to provide tremendous insight into how to get answers.

  • Myalgic- refers to muscle pain.
  • Encephalomyelitis- refers to inflammation of the nervous system which includes the brain, spinal cord, and nerves.

The most important part that allows for answers is understanding encephalomyelitis, aka neurological inflammation. When someone receives this diagnosis, the first question that should be asked are what factors are driving this inflammation. There is usually more than one factor at play in our experience, which is one of the reasons it is challenging and frustrating.

What exactly are some of the factors that contribute to inflammation:

  • Food
  • Stress
  • Sleep
  • Environmental Toxins
  • Infections
  • Concussions or Brain Injuries
  • Mold
  • PTSD
  • Blood Sugar or Insulin Resistance
  • Other changes within the immune system such as mast cell activation or autoimmune responses

As you can tell, there are a variety of factors at play and the key is to identify which ones are important for you.

Our Approach To Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

If you are still reading then at least some part, if not most, of this resonated with you.

We do things a bit differently here. Chronic and complex conditions such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis require a comprehensive approach. A provider cannot pick just one part of the body to help conditions like this. While the nervous system is the most impacted part, the nervous system is impacted by many other parts of the body.

Our goal is for you to experience a different type of approach so you can achieve results that you did not achieve before. We will evaluate you as an entire person. We focus on the brain, mind, and body health. When one of these areas is suboptimal, it can impact other areas.

The following individuals should request to become a patient at our clinic.

  • What has been described excites you
  • You are looking for something different and are willing to try something new
  • You will not let a diagnosis define you
  • You are not looking for short cuts and know that achieving health is a process and doesn’t occur overnight.

If you agree with those, then we invite you to take the next steps and schedule a consult with our team.

“I have known Dr. Spencer Zimmerman (Dr. Z) for over a decade and watched him fine-tune his incredibly detailed approach to overcoming disease and illness. He is not your average physician. In addition to continuing education seminars and conferences, he spends 100’s of hours annually…personally studying and researching the latest cutting-edge, in-depth medical science. He’s a seeker of truth and viable, usable, effective healing solutions. His approach to immunology and rapidly boosting the body’s innate ability to mobilize and defend itself…is novel and highly comprehensive.

Wow were my eyes opened by Dr. Z. I was suffering from daily migraines, neck, back, shoulder, hip pain, vision and hearing problems, and the list goes on. Dr. Z saved my life. No joke. He is super meticulous and very passionate about his work. He is very smart and forward thinking and researches all the time. He genuinely cares about his patients. He’s an amazing and very caring provider and I highly recommend him.

“Dr. Spencer Zimmerman is phenomenal! In January I found out I have Lyme disease and along with that discovery, I found out that most traditional Doctors won’t/can’t help treat Lyme disease patients due to FDA restrictions. My only option appeared to be a Lyme specialist, which was going to cost enormous amounts of money because insurance doesn’t cover Lyme specialists. I felt hopeless. And that’s when I had the amazing fortune to come across Dr. Spencer Zimmerman. He gave me the hope I so desperately needed. He is very knowledgeable in regards to traditional medicine, but also homeopathic care as well.
